Have you hugged a librarian today?

Librarians, we writers appreciate you! If you're a librarian, drop me a comment, noting the name/location of your library, and you might win a copy A Shore Thing! Be sure to leave me an email address or way to contact you! (Readers, be sure to tell your favorite Librarian about this, okay?)

And new readers, just for fun, I'll be giving away a second copy just for you! Enter by leaving a comment about your favorite beach.

Ends Saturday, July 24. Have a beachy week, my friends ~ wherever you are!

I really don't have a fovorite beach, since I'm not a sun and sand person, but I do love to read. Thanks for entering me in your contest.

Julie, thanks for the contest, I saw it on AuthorBuzz and I'm not a librarian but close. I'm a board member for my library district and I would love to be entered into the contest and I want to be a new reader too so my favorite beach was in Cancun where I visited in the mid 80's where the sand was so white and fine it was wonderful
thanks

I'm a new reader (not a librarian, although I do have a favorite one!) and I love your blog. The greatest beach in the world is at Ocean Shores, Washington. I'm partial to that one because my husband and I were married there in 2003. We pulled complete strangers off the beach to be our witnesses and the sea gulls were our guests!

One of my favorite beaches is Natural Bridges Beach in Santa Cruz because my husband proposed to me there almost 23 years ago! I also like New Brighton, Capitola, Rio Del Mar . . . it's so nice to live on the CA coast! Please enter me for you drawing! I love your books. (Or if you need an influencer, let me know!)

Congrats on being a finalist in the ACFW Carol Awards! :)

I'm a new reader and I saw your book featured on AuthorBuzz! I don't really have a favorite beach (aren't they all great!), but I love to read anywhere - including the beach! Thank you!

Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, FL is my idea of heaven. Let's hope the oil spill stays away.

I also saw your contest on Authorbuzz and since I grew up on Long Island (NY)I am a beach person. I've visited many beaches on both coasts and in Hawaii and although I love "uncrowded beaches", I do love Waikiki, especially early in the morning. Please enter my name in the contest. Thanks.

My favorite beach is Folly Beach. It is a nice beach and just 10-15 minutes from downtown Charleston. Perfect vacation spot.

Hi Julie! I'm a new reader and a librarian. I work at the Midlothian branch of the Chesterfield County Public Library (VA). My favorite beach when I was a kid was Ocean City, MD. My husband doesn't like the heat, so now we vacation in the mountains. My work e-mail is elliottl@chesterfield.gov. Thanks!

Hi Julie,

I don't really have a favorite beach, I live in the midwest in a state with out an ocean. I would really like to hang out on the beach some day with a copy of your book! Thanks so much for the great contest!

Dear Julie,

One of the things that immediately attracted me to the concept of your book was the deep and meaningful invocation of the ocean. There is nothing I love quite more than spending a day by the shore.

My favourite beach that I have seen thus far in my life would be manly Beach, Sydney, Australia. I haven't been to the beach in some time now (plate's full, life is a burden) but I always come back to the memories of how my little sister, mother and I went there one temperate summer's day and we squealed as we set foot on the blistering sand, and giggled as we pushed each other in the cold, cold water. And the smell - oh, the smell. Delightfully salty, and the way it sprays on your face is one of the best sensations ever.

I guess I have to thank you for reminding me that there were good moments in my childhood.

Thanks Julie-
My favorite beach is really 2- I love Island Beach State Park in NJ and the beach at Mullet Beach on St. Maarten (especially in February when I am cold through the bone from a Michigan winter!)
Maybe someday I'll see of those lovely California beaches.

Wow ~ you're all giving me some great travel ideas! To Anonymous in Gulf Shores, Been praying for you sweet people down there. I wish you the very best. Nadia, I've heard beautiful things about Australia. One of the places I've always wanted to visit, really!

Australia, being one of the biggest islands in the world, is naturally a haven for people that love the beach and the ocean. I would definitely recommend it to you, Julie! It's just breathtaking, and I have never met anyone that couldn't see the beauty in it. And the best part is, there are so many to choose from, all magical in their own rights.

Julie, I'm a bit late in reading this. Fortunately, I've already added A Shore Thing to our library system. :-)

Excellent way to market your book to libraries. Your "teacher" is proud of you. :-)In fact, I plan to share your idea in my workshop at OCW next week.
