Hangin' with Esther

Dashing off to the first meeting of the study I'm doing this quarter: Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman by Beth Moore. LOVE that title! And you should see the cover with its touch of whimsy--I like whimsy! Serious, but sort of humorous too--a thought-provoking mix.

Anyway,
I studied ahead a few days, and think this is going to be a terrific book of the Bible to really dive into. After watching The Bachelor last night (I fast forwarded through all that skin at the beginning. blech.), maybe I ought to recommend this study of super-faithful Esther to some of those gals as well, Lol...

We're doing this study at our church. It's wonderful. Hope you enjoy your study. Tell me what you think of "The Red Book"!

That sounds like a wonderful study - I need to go research that a little...

Yeah, they could do with a little Esther, huh? Most of the girls (and guys) in these reality shows could....in my opinion, that's why I don't watch them.

Wasn't Esther basically a concubine?! I wouldn't judge those Bachelor girls too harshly! Don't forget God can use anyone!

Esther saved a nation, Anne, so yeah, wouldn't it be cool if mean Erica did too? Hey, could happen...

Totally! If God can use a member of harem to save her people, anything’s possible. So let’s not be ragging on The Bach! And let’s not judge these girls and how much they need Esther without at least acknowledging that Esther herself was something far seedier than a reality TV contestant (who God used mightily).

haha! Whoa, I haven't been thru Esther in a long while (unless you count Veggie tales), so I'm not sure if I can agree yet if Esther was 'far seedier' than certain reality show contestants!

Something tells me, tho, that poor Esther probably had little choice in her career choice, whereas reality show contestants...?

That is very true.
