Tsunami watch

Had a little excitement in Ventura over the weekend. That's me on the left with my friend, Angel, watching her boat dock float away. The earthquake across the world in Chile sent water surging through the Ventura harbor, wreaking havoc on more than a dozen boat docks attached to homes. Such a bummer, but no lives hurt or lost, so that's the good news. By the way, to the news helicopter pilot buzzing the beach area early Sunday morning, may you soon be awakened by the sharp call of an air horn in your ears...

Fascinating, and awe-inspiring, how an event across the world can affect us. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I've finally managed to get a copy of Truffles by the Sea (like many writers, I'm scraping for food money, so I was thrilled to get it), and I'm looking forward to reading it.
