Readin', Ritin', Rithm'tic, and Ready to drop

ACFW pal, Delia Latham, is having a big summer blowout contest to celebrate her latest book, Goldeneyes. Check it out here.

I don't know about you other moms out there but this end of year flurry of school projects and extra, super-duper hard homework schedule is slowly draining the very life blood out of me. Make it stop! It's either all or nothing, am I right? Soon they'll be out of school and rooting around for something fun (and probably expensive) to do, but will I be wishing they just had a big project to work on? Doubtful. Just wishing we could sail on into summer instead of this all out, powerboating richochet we're dealing with--can anyone relate?

Breathe, breathe, breathe. So. Let's talk vacation, which is heavy on my mind despite the enormous word count I must accomplish every day. Where're you going this summer?

That's one nice thing about homeschooling - I pretty much coast through the last month of school. We work every day, but nothing too hard or detailed!

If we go anywhere this summer, it will be somewhere close - maybe DC for the day, or Gettysburg. Gas is just too expensive.

I hear you on the gas, Jana! Isn't it awful? I've been to Gettysburg, btw!

Oh, and I tried homeschooling my son, and I pretty much stunk at it. But we did have fun doing school in Starbucks, so hopefully he has good memories of that time..Lol

No real vacations for us since it's hubby's busiest time of year.

PS. Homeschool at Starbucks sounds like tons of fun. Kind of makes me miss homeschooling.

We are making the Fourth of July weekend longer this year yet with the gas prices we will stay close to home. Although we do live in San Diego so, we are truly already on vacation. lol.

Maybe I will be able to get my hubby to go to the beach so we can take advantage of the ocean.

My little one goes to preschool so no homework as of yet. When we go on field trips Starbucks is right up there with Jamba Juice in my house.

We probably will not go anywhere but I really really want to go to the beach. :)

I'm going to Australia!! I'm so excited that I have forbidden myself from thinking about it so that the days don't drag and so that I stop staring into space with a wide, dopey grin.
